Well said. I can't stop thinking about the Salt Path revelations, and how criminally dishonest it is, and what the ramifications will be for writers and the publishing industry. How can a person lie like that? And lie, and lie, and lie for years. It's utterly extraordinary.
I love the idea of Wimbledon but haven’t watched it seriously very often. Maybe it was Andy Murray - who I like off the court, but did not take to his style of play on it - who knows. I suspect I’ll get back into it at some point and bore you silly about it
Super post and I have the exact same views on heat, tennis - there’s not much tennis in the North Midlands I must say - and that book! Never mind the dishonesty, it’s the victim positioning when they appear to have left their own victims in their wake I’m appalled by. She was arrested?! I’ve avoided the book as I read a joyful SW Coast Path book years ago (500 Mile Walkers; brilliant) and didn’t want to revisit with this privileged sounding take. My dear sister loved it all though and she’ll be devastated so I’m annoyed about that on her behalf! And thank you for the green sauce recipe; I’ve honestly never made it and now can’t wait to try. Thanks for your brilliant reads x
I am in the same ‘ball park’ vis a vis the tennis. Thank you for the salsa v recipe/ I would not have considered this otherwise. Treasure trove of a post, LB
i too have embraced the summer of jars. open the fridge, find naum chac for vietnamese meatballs, spicy vin for fried rice, a green sauce different from yours called Green Angel from a delightful book called Keep it Zesty by Edy something. i’ve been serving with raw veg and also as a sandwich spread. it’s blitzed with herbs and an avocado and like your green sauce goes with everything. the jar thing works when you have a day of time to whip up concoctions to then be used easily when you have a week of none. chocolate sauce is a good one too, which just requires its fried vanilla ice cream.
