I really loved your post. So many great ideas for slowing down and creating special moments. Yay!! More book ideas for my own TBR pile!

When I feel the need to travel, but can't get away, I watch a YouTube video of what I'm craving....for example the sunny South of France when it's the middle of winter where I am.

Great idea and also old eps of The Durrells. And I read about the markets in Year in Provence!

Come for a dog walk through our sunflowers! We’ve honestly never had such a great field of them - they’ve thrived in this dry heat.

Also come for more courgettes! 😆

We need to eat outside every night that we can 🙌 I think that makes or breaks what we consider ‘a good summer’

I really enjoyed this, Lucy. Also, 5 is totally me! But why have I never thought of getting a nice room while they camp? I normally just decline and don’t get to go on holiday while they do (and sadly no, I don’t get to just chill while they are away).

Full disclosure, they can camp near home so I just go back to my own bed! But would highly recommend you booking somewhere

Aaahh. There’s no place to camp close to home. Or maybe there is. About half an hour away? Just not exactly around the corner. I never thought about driving there in the morning to meet them. I might suggest that.

I was never one for summer holidays, taking some time away in September or October instead. But now my reasons are money, who wants to add to the pollution and if you live by a big body of water you can swim every day! Yay! and have time to read as well.

As homeschoolers we tend to stay home during the summer holidays and only come out once everyone is safely locked up again 🤪
